The Seiko Prospex Alpinist SPB117J1 is a 39.5 mm stainless steel automatic watch powered by the in-house 6R35 calibre. Its defining feature is the internal rotating compass bezel, operated by a dedicated crown positioned at 4 o’clock.
A black dial displays cathedral hands with LumiBrite treatment alongside distinctive shark tooth indices. A date window at 3 o’clock is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal featuring an inner anti-reflective coating. A matching stainless steel bracelet completes the case, secured by a tri-fold push-button release clasp with two micro-adjustment positions.
The 6R35 movement provides a 70-hour power reserve and manual winding capability, coupled with a stop-seconds hand function for precise time-setting. A see-through case back reveals the calibre underneath. Additional specifications include a 46.4 mm lug-to-lug dimension, a screw-down crown, and water resistance rated to 200 metres.
